![]() I do believe the intent was to hint at The Witcher there, but it's also possible it was a coincidence and they intended to do a reference to the pagan folklore instead. Also consider season 1 of the witcher on netflix aired in dezember 2019 where shadowlands was already deep in development and had it's first PTR build released early in 2020, patch 9.0.5 being released on the ptr server early in february 2020 and Shadowlands release being November 2020. But I think the most people who hear or read "the wild hunt" will think about The Witcher. ![]() The witcher is known to have most of it's content inspired and based on actual existing folklore. Some references are original one's from other Blizzard games, some are references outside of Blizzard. It could be that they made the futurama reference because of futurama, it can be they made it because wow made that reference and they like to give every mad scientist character in Blizzard games that line or maybe they thought of Putricide specificly. Well the thing is not everyone knows the exact origins of wcery reference. It seems rather practical in a weird way, but I also find it disturbing considering the pain Moira must've endured, how she suffered in the name of her own ideas and scientific vision. This also explains how her Scientist and Blackwatch have the elbow pads uncovered as she is still starting off with this technology, then on Oasis and Classic (aka her modern day/Talon skin) she dons long sleeves so they wont be so exposed. This would explain quite a bit: No wonder she can heal herself when doing damage, no wonder her equipment fades with her. I'd like to think that there must be some kind of cable permanently inside her body which allows her to connect the elbow pads with the glove cables and the upper part of the backpack with the glass tubes when doning her suit, closing the system when on combat and allowing the fluids to travel freely without coming in contact with her blood. The cables are inside Moira's body, they go into her at the elbows and at somewhere on the upper side of her back. If you take a look at her Scientist and Blackwatch skins (not only are they canon but also without sleeves you can see the entire weapon) you will notice that the cables carrying the biotic energy go from the gloves and end in elbow pads, they are nowhere else to be seen. HOWEVER, havent you noticed there are no cables from the gloves to the back? The glass tubes take the fluids to the upper side of her backpack near her neck, so what gives? ![]() ![]() I was trying to depict Moira's biotic grasp and backpack on their own as an aesthetic so I got curious on how the system connects, and in doing so I found a disturbing truth.Īs we all know Moira takes biotic energy from enemies with her right hand, a system of tubes takes it to the backpack where it transforms into regenerative energy that goes back through the tubes and comes out at her left hand.
